Estas lecturas no serán discutidas con profundidad.
Pero deben ser leídas cuidadosamente, ya que les darán
los conocimientos básicos y generales sobre primates
para empezar con el resto de los artículos y capítulos
de libros. Los capítulos de Fleagle (1999) dan un idea
básica de la anatomía, clasificación
y características generales de los primates. Martín
y Bateson (1993) es una introducción inicial a los
métodos de muestreo de comportamiento, Gerloff et al
(1999) y Pope (2000) dan una muestra de cómo se pueden
utilizar herramientas combinadas de genéticamolecular
y ecología de comportamiento para contestar mas completamente
las mismaspreguntas, Bertcovich y Ziegler (2002) muestran
el estado de la sociendocrinología en el campo de la
primatologia, y finalmente Fleagle (2000) nos da una idea
muy resumida de otro enfoque de la primatologia de hoy.
